Getting Leads

So you’ve found a great company with a great product and a great compensation plan. Great! Now there are 2 things that you need: skills and people to talk to. This section focuses on finding people to talk to. There are several different ways to do this, but not all of them work well.

Most people are told it’s a numbers game. “Just go talk to enough people, and you’ll find 3 or 4 good ones. That’s all you need.” In theory it sounds great. In reality it’s a whole different story. The biggest challenge is talking to enough of the RIGHT people. People who are interested, have an open mind, and are willing to work with you. The question becomes, “How do you find these people?”

There are 4 main ways to find people to talk to:

Warm Market Leads (a/k/a Friends and Family)
Cold Market Leads (people you don’t know)
Purchasing Leads (let someone else find them for you)
Lead Generation Systems (finding your own leads)

Let’s start at the beginning with Warm Market Leads.
